Introducing A New Fashioned Mobile Phone
Dior phone would not have something in common like other fashioned mobile phones. Dior want to make it "BIG" by setting a retail at approx USD5000 when compared to other fashioned mobile phones that are retailed for approx USD600. Yep, it is about the price. However, Dior is hoping to make a hit by targetting to brand-hungry consumers in new markets such as China and Russia. Dior is expected to sell at least 10,000 of them a year at the beginning and hopes to reach annual sales of €200 million in the longer term.
Can they make a hit as they are expected? I guess we just need to see. Personally, I need to think twice becuase the price doesn't hook me at all. ^^

Marc Jacobs up for an interview!
On the difficulties of getting his spring 2001 Stephen Sprouse monogram collection for Louis Vuitton produced:
"I don't understand corporate people — I always say the design team's on the second floor and the corporate people are on the fifth floor, and it might as well be the distance between here and Mars … The press reaction to all that graffiti was so amazing … [but] they bitched and moaned, [saying] 'we're not going to do it'. I just couldn't believe it … at the time, that's how narrow-minded they were … [but] $300 million later, they think it's a good idea!"
On hiring Tom Ford to design denim for Perry Ellis when Jacobs headed the label:
"Tom was a different person then … Tom was this very, very sort of haughty, tasteful person, very Waspy … or that's what he was affecting at that moment. I thought it would be great to do a jean line with someone who has a very sophisticated mind."
On what fashion really is all about:
"When I trust my own whims, and the whims of people I trust, I feel that has credibility … Belief is embedded in everything you do — so it doesn't actually matter whether people like it. I guess what we do, as a team, is a daily, weekly, monthly re-evaluation of whims."
The quote that will make you say "word":
"I can't bear it when designers go on about inspiration … If a girl wants to wear it and feels good then who cares?"

The Perspective of LVMH Chairman
Arnault, whose company recently added Swiss watchmaker Hublot to its portfolio of luxury brands, singled out handbags as a strong earner. "There are tons of new leather goods," he declared. "The Richard Prince bag for Vuitton has been an immense success and we won't be able to meet demand," Arnault said. "We can't produce the pieces fast enough." He also predicted strong sales this year for Fendi, calling it "one of the most important Italian brands on the market."

Louis Vuitton and a Religion?!?
"The monogram is essentially an observation of how some myths can be taken as reality (like religion) and how real life can escalate into myth (like religion!). It is also an experiment into the idea of the mythology behind couture and big fashion labels, handbags and limited edition designs having become a religion in its own right with private shrines dedicated all to their glory! The use of the LV monogram is not only a nod to its iconic image but also a reference to how some people feel when they see this pattern stretched over a piece of luggage or a tiny wallet."
Isn't it interesting?
